Simulation has proven to be a great tool to help designers and engineers proactively troubleshoot the part design, manufacturing processes and assemblies. With the increased access to more power computers, what was once designated for just a select few is now available and accessible to a much wider audience that can help minimize traditional trial and error. However, to take full advantage of these tools and continuous learning approach is necessary. There are many opportunities to continue your learning coming up in the last part of the year. Below is a brief list of opportunities to take that next step in your simulation journey:

Autodesk Advance Manufacturing Summit 2020 (August 25-27, 2020):

This free online summit is the next evolution of the Autodesk Moldflow Summit that has been so successful over the last several years. This year, the online event will highlight talks on all the MAKE products, from speakers around the world. Whether you are interested in CAM, Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), Generative design, or Moldflow analysis there is something sure to spark your interest.

For Moldflow, topics include:

  • Cooling Channel Modeling & Results Interpretation
  • Multiphysics Topology Optimization and the Design of High Performance Injection Molds
  • Rheology Supporting Aesthetics on Technical Parts
  • Reverse Warpage Workflows – Theory vs Reality
  • Hands On Learning for Flow Fundamentals with Tim Van Ast!

Online Autodesk Moldflow Courses on D3’s CAD L.I.V.E. Platform:

As a certified training center for Autodesk, D3’s online platform CAD L.I.V.E allows you the ability to continue with your development with an online training platform that still allows for one-on-one interaction. The platform allows you to access the Moldflow software from anywhere and lets the instructor look and take control of your screen to assist with any process troubleshooting. This platform helps eliminate travel costs from any training budget without sacrificing on the interaction. With classes for many Autodesk products, including Autodesk Moldflow Adviser and Insight, these classes can be held privately for a company, or via our public training course.

Plastics and Elastomer Technology Certificate Courses (UW-Milwaukee Continuing Education) – Now ONLINE!

If you are interested in building your resume, look no further than the Plastics and Elastomer Technology Certificate from UW-Milwaukee. The certificate program gathers experts in the plastics field to instruct and train the next generation of designers and engineers in the proper utilization in plastics. From material selection to design to manufacturing there is a course that covers every topic.

Two classes of particular relevance are:

Effective Results Interpretation of Injection Molding Simulation (November 4-5, 2020): This two-day workshop focuses on how analysts and non-analysts can better utilize the results of injection molding simulations. After the class the attendees will be able to take the pretty pictures and turn them into solutions to keep their programs moving more effectively.
